Now in it’s twelve edition, the annual hard rock festival Rock on the Range returns to Columbus, Ohio in 2018 with headliners Tool, Alice in Chains, and Avenged Sevenfold. The lineup is also features Stone Temple Pilots, A Perfect Circle, and Godsmack among many others. The 3 day festival held at the home of the MLS’s Columbus Crew, MAPFRE Stadium, has also in the past brought artists such as Metallica, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Bush over it’s history. It was this past May’s Rock on the Range which Soundgarden was scheduled to headline when the tragedy of Chris Cornell’s passing hit the day before. As a result, the mood was heavy but the artists and fans banded together to honor his memory with multiple tributes and covers throughout the weekend.
